Some of you may know Nicole Anderson from Jonas LA, others from Make It Or Break It, but soon you will know her as Hope Plotkins in Mean Girls 2. With the premiere Sunday, January 23 on ABC Family, I sat down with Nicole to discuss some of her beauty beliefs. After asking Nicole to lunch, I told her that the restaurant was her choice. To my delight she picked a place that was within walking distance from my house. The laugh came when I noticed that the place was vegetarian. Over the years Nicole and I have had are fair share of discussions about eating animals. We agree to disagree.
I met Nicole in 2008 on the set of Jonas where she and I instantly bonded in the makeup room over music and lipgloss. Nicole was sweet and kept to herself, sometimes in a corner knitting. I have enjoyed watching her transform into a confident, sassy young lady.
While discussing her character Hope over lunch, I learned that she is the kind of girl who is always perfect down to the matching headband. Nicole said Hope is really prissy, viewing herself as someone who is much more down to earth. She said, 'don't get me wrong, I love pink, just not that much pink!' Think leather vs. lace. Onto the good stuff......well, the stuff I consider good glam.

MM: What is your "go to" makeup look?
NA: Smokey eye with a nude lip. I like Stila Smokey eye kit and a nude lipstick by MAC. Oh, and I won't go anywhere without contoured cheekbones! I need my bronzer.
MM: What is your "go to" hair style?
NA: Since I have so much heat on my hair when working, I try to just let my hair dry naturally. I try to keep my hair healthy. I always have slouchy beanies laying around and usually I just throw one on.
MM: How does your daily look vary from your red carpet look?
NA: I usually do my own makeup for events. I guess I just try to add more to show up on camera. I like to have individual lashes because they make the biggest impact.
MM: Would you ever want to create a clothing or beauty line?
NA: My brother Ken is a design student so if I did, it would be with him.
Today Nicole is sporting her natural locks a la brunette. In the process of growing out her bangs Nicole says she preferes being somewhere in the middle of blonde and brunette. While playing Hope Plotkins she was blonde. What she called the perfect shade of blonde and just as she was wrapping up the movie, she got a phone call informing her that she would need to dye her hair. Though she was excited to be returning as Kelly Parker for 6 out of the 10 episodes on Make It Or Break It, she was a little bummed as she would no longer be a California blonde.
